Wine Grape Management had its beginnings over 25 years ago with Stephen and Anette helping out local grape growers as a means to support their own small vineyard and orchard in Light Pass.
Since then the balance has changed with an increasing demand for specialized viticultural management and services. “We never imagined that we would grow to a point where the majority of our work is away from our own vineyard”, Stephen says.
With these humble beginnings Stephen and Anette appreciate the varying needs of vineyard owners and are able to provide as little or as much help that is required.
Growing up in the Barossa Valley with both Grandfathers involved in grape growing it was inevitable that Stephen would be involved in viticulture. Formal qualifications in Viticulture were added to a practical knowledge base with a Bachelor of Ag. Science (Viticulture) from the University of Adelaide. Prior to Wine Grape Management, Stephen worked as vineyard manager for various winery/ vineyard companies. His lifelong involvement in viticulture combined with his excellent local knowledge provides the foundation for Wine Grape Management.
Anette’s practical agricultural/viticultural experience has also been complemented with formal agricultural qualifications from the University of Gӧttingen, Germany with an Honours Degree in Agricultural Engineering. A background with family business in Germany has given her insight and experience in the management of an enterprise where quality of workmanship and services are of upmost importance.
